My Approach
My desire is to provide a safe space for individuals and families to collaboratively address a full range of mental health issues including:
-
depression
-
anxiety
-
grief & loss
-
trauma
I approach issues holistically in the context of a Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual framework.
I utilize EMDR therapy and approach mental health with this model of care.
EMDR is trauma therapy that is not limited to PTSD. Some negative mental health symptoms are organically based or caused by inadequate information. Other symptoms are initiated by insufficiently processed memories that have been inappropriately stored in one’s brain. EMDR addresses these unprocessed memories. These may include the negative interactions in one’s dysfunctional family along with any other harmful events experienced throughout a person’s lifetime. In EMDR therapy physiologically stored memories that are the basis of pathology are identified, accessed, and processed to resolution.
